As a senior art director at Broderbund Software, most of my time was spent in meetings. But I couldn’t resist designing some holiday clip art (in a Japanese Pop-influenced style) with my young daughter Jessica in mind.

 

The Seduction of Mike
When my brother Bob (R. Sikoryak) landed what was perhaps the only comic ever funded by the NEA, he was nice enough to ask me to help. I drew a 15-page story in the style of Little Lulu (scripted by Michael Smith) and designed the rest of the framing material.

 

Hacker Humor
The good news: I had been offered a regular slot as cartoonist for a monthly magazine. The "bad" news: it was a hard-core computer programming mag (Dr. Dobb’s Journal). Fortunately the editors, especially chief Michael Swaine, were encouraging and good sports, with a sense of humor that was better than C++.
